There are a lot of great beers and breweries in this great country. Sam Adams is near the top of the list in the minds of most serious beer drinkers out there. The founder of Sam Adams, Jim Koch is a pretty well known guy thanks to the commercials that he’s in and he’s also a pretty incredible success story.
A lot of liberals are about to get pretty upset though because it looks like Jim Koch is a fan of President Trump or at the very least he doesn’t hate him.
Koch showed up to an event at Trump’s golf course with other business leaders and he had some pretty nice things to say about Trump’s recent tax cuts.
“The tax reform was a very big deal for all of us, because 85 percent of the beer made in the United States is owned by foreign companies,” he told Donald Trump while attending a dinner hosted by the president at his club in Bedminster.
“We were paying 38 percent taxes and competing against people who were paying 20,” Koch said. “And now we have a level playing field, and we’re going to kick their ass.”
“When I started Sam Adams, American beer was a joke, and it pissed me off,” he said. “And now, American brewers make the best beer in the world.”
Right before Koch praised Trump. He stood up, chugged a beer, and gave the crowd a good laugh.
From The Daily Caller:
Koch stood up holding his beer and said, “I’m not quite sure why I’m here. I’m like the smallest company, by far,” Koch continued. “I’m Jim Koch, and I started making Sam Adams beer in my kitchen 37 years ago. Tonight, it’s the designated drink.”
The room burst into applause as Koch chugged his beer. “At least I brought the beer,” Koch said to loud laughs.
Sounds like a pretty good night.
Clearly, Koch knows what he is talking about and if he thinks Trump is good for the industry then that’s probably the case.
Check out the clip. Koch stands up at the 23:20 mark.
