Trump Admin. Preparing To Roll Back Yet Another Piece Of Obama’s Legacy

Obama’s legacy is pretty much in shambles at this point. The Trump Admin. has basically erased him from history. The Iran Deal is gone. The Paris Accord is gone. His regulations are gone. And so on. Now, the Trump Admin. is preparing to roll back yet another Obama move.

When it came to energy, the environment, and the EPA, Obama was a complete disaster. His scandal plagued EPA passed regulation after regulation that did nothing but kill jobs. His Department of Energy wasn’t far behind.

Now, we are learning that Trump’s DOE is about to roll back yet another piece of Obama’s legacy.

From The Daily Caller:

The Trump administration is preparing to repeal an Obama-era rule effectively outlawing a wide swath of popular lightbulbs, The Washington Post reported Wednesday.

The Department of Energy is ready to scrap a rule broadening the number of lightbulbs that must meet strict energy efficiency standards set to take effect in 2020, according to a document the agency published on its website. The document was later removed from the site, WaPo noted.

Former President Barack Obama’s DOE expanded the class of bulbs covered by a 2007 lightbulb ban to include bug lights, three-way bulbs, “rough service lamps,” and some decorative bulbs, such as globe-shaped bulbs. Obama’s decision came in January 2017 and roped in bulbs that had previously been exempt from the ban.

Sorry Obama. Looks like the American people are going to be allowed to decide what kind of light bulbs they want. Not the government.

The Energy Independence Act which mandated that incandescent bulbs were to be phased out by 2012, was passed into law in 2007 and signed by President George W. Bush. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy_Independence_and_Security_Act_of_2007
