House Majority Leader To Put Forward Bill That Finally Comes Through On Key Trump Promise

It is remarkable to watch everything that Trump has gotten done in just 2 years in office. We all knew he would be a good president who would get things done but this is just unprecedented. Slashing regulations, tearing down Obama’s failed legacy, jump starting the economy, restoring our reputation in the world, re-negotiating NAFTA, confirming 2 conservative judges to the Supreme Court, peace in North Korea, and on and on and on.

The only thing that hasn’t been addressed yet is perhaps the most important promise Trump made on the campaign.

Build the wall.

There are legitimate reasons why the wall hasn’t been built and it’s not easy getting something like that through Congress. But, you have to wonder whether or not Trump supporters will tolerate it much longer if this thing doesn’t get going.

Well, we might have just had a breakthrough.

From Fox News:

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., has signaled his intent to introduce legislation this week that would fully fund President Trump’s wall on along the nation’s southern border.

The legislation by McCarthy, who is looking to drum up support among the GOP’s rank and file as he eyes House Speaker Paul Ryan’s speakership, is expected to call for full wall funding alongside other enforcement measures already approved in the House.

“Few things are more fundamental to a nation than a protected border,” McCarthy tweeted on Tuesday. “Proud to introduce the Build the Wall, Enforce the Law Act.”

Plenty of reasons to be skeptical. We’ve been hearing a lot of talk about this from Republicans and it hasn’t happened.

But, you have to imagine that McCarthy isn’t putting forward a bill like this unless he’s confident it will get through the House. The problem is the Senate where most conservative bills go to die. But, you never know.

Stay tuned.
