Brenda Snipes Does It Again, TAKES BACK Her Resignation

You’re not going to believe this story.

You may recall that Brenda Snipes, the controversial Broward County elections supervisor, had said it was time to go after the midterm vote-counting debacle. She tendered her resignation and prepared to step down in January.

But then, Governor Rick Scott said on Friday that he was suspending her and appointing Peter Antonacci to take over in the interim.

That didn’t sit well with Snipes.

From Fox News:

Snipes responded by rescinding her previous resignation — and will now be “fighting this to the very end,” her attorney said during a Saturday news conference.

“We believe these actions are malicious,” said Burnadette Norris-Weeks, who said that Broward County voters should be concerned about what Scott is trying to do in the Democratic stronghold by putting in an ally who could oversee the office into the 2020 elections.

Snipes has been the top elections official in the south Florida county since 2003 when then-Gov. Jeb Bush appointed her. She came under withering criticism for her handling of this year’s elections, as well as its legally required recount in close races for governor and U.S. Senate. She had been elected three times and her current term was not scheduled to end until 2020.

In his executive order, Scott said he was suspending Snipes due to misfeasance, incompetence and neglect of duty. His order cited problems during the recount, including reports of more than 2,000 ballots being misplaced. She also came under fire in 2017 after she destroyed year-old ballots in violation of law.

Scott said he did it because there had to be an immediate change and taxpayers shouldn’t have to be paying her salary.

Technically, her term is until 2020.

What happens now that she’s rescinded her resignation is that they would have to come to some deal to reinstate her resignation or they would need to get the state senate to remove or reinstate her.

Snipes said on Saturday that “we have always done our work in an air of quality and integrity.”

She managed to antagonize all sides of the aisle in the midterms, but it still may be a fight to get her out.

Can’t she be just fired?

she was fired. She’s going to court to fight the firing. “Rescinding” her retirement means nothing. I think the court will side with Governor Scott.

She’s lucky she’s not in jail. She should leave well enough alone.

Unbelievable! Don’t trust her one bit. She’s fighting to stay so she can continue the corruption in 2020. Dems need her to win anything.

The woman is a criminal, has been found guilty of “rigging” votes previously and just continues to do so. She needs to be in jail and should be arrested. The time is here to start showing these communist progressives that they are not going to be allowed to get away with this nonsense — no free rides — YOU DO THE CRIME, YOU DO THE TIME!

I use to live in that county for over 30 years and left because the entire government of BC went more corrupt than Washington DC. Leftist liberals have turned once beautiful Broward County into a chithole full of racist liberal leftist totalitarian dictators who do NOT represent anyone BUT the same .
