Utter Disaster: After NFL Player Hits Woman on Camera, League Finds Out Ad Revenue Has Nosedived Thanks to Poor Ratings

Not a very good week for the NFL when it comes to PR. You have probably seen the video of yet another player laying his hands on a woman.

That player, Kareem Hunt, is now out of a job and the NFL still clearly hasn’t figured out how to address the off the field issues that have become so prevalent in the league.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, the NFL got some other disappointing news.

From Breitbart:

The National Football League’s 2018 ad revenue has sharply declined due to the crashing television ratings the league suffered in 2016 and 2017, according to reports.

The NFL’s TV ratings suffered a precipitous loss over the previous two seasons, with the 2016-2017 numbers down 10 percent. TV ad pricing is based on previous ratings periods, and so these declines seriously cut into the ad prices that the league could charge for the 2018 TV season.

Because of the bad numbers from last season, ad revenue fell 19 percent in the first two months of the 2018 season, Bloomberg reported.

That’s not what they are looking for.

They have only themselves to blame. They botched the anthem situation. The domestic violence issue isn’t going away. The games aren’t as interesting. Just bad all the way around.
