Sometimes a 16 year old can show an adult a thing or two.
Teen conservative pundit and Trump supporter CJ Pearson was talking about the State of the Union last week on Twitter when he made this tweet:
A pretty innocent tweet.
But the response from “the woman” in question Rep. Nydia Velazquez (D-NY) was not so innocent in response.
“Hi CJ Pearson, I’m not ‘the woman sitting next to her,’” Velazquez wrote on Twitter Tuesday night. “[Ocasio-Cortez] and I — and millions like us — are the future of this country. And you’re right to be afraid of us. But you should learn my name.”
People excoriated Velazquez for threatening the teen and reminded Velazquez that politicians shouldn’t be telling Americans to fear them.
Person responded, “I’m sorry, Congresswoman, but as [President] Donald Trump said — socialism will NOT be the future of this country. And Nydia, nothing about you nor [Ocasio-Cortez] scares me. It’s your policies — that jeopardize the stability of our nation and the future of my generation — that scare me,” he wrote on Twitter.
On Sunday, Pearson appeared on “Fox & Friends” and said he would have loved to have actually had a real conversation with Velazquez.
From Daily Caller:
“I would have loved to have a discussion with the congresswoman about issues I care about, such as education, about reining in the national deficit which is $21 trillion, which is continuously kicked down the can by the leaders of today that my generation is going to have to pay back,” 16-year-old CJ Pearson said Sunday. “I would have loved to have that conversation with her, but instead she threatened and belittled me. It was classless and beneath the office that she holds.”
A far classier response than that of Velazquez.
Velazquez has not responded to the backlash about her tweet. Other mainstream media hasn’t covered it and Democrats have not called her out on it.
