President Trump is hitting back at conservative author Ann Coulter for comments she made about his sluggish rate at building the border wall.
“Wacky Nut Job @AnnCoulter, who still hasn’t figured out that, despite all odds and an entire Democrat Party of Far Left Radicals against me (not to mention certain Republicans who are sadly unwilling to fight), I am winning on the Border,” Trump tweeted.
The president continued: “….and renovated, with MUCH MORE to follow shortly. Tens of thousands of illegals are being apprehended (captured) at the Border and NOT allowed into our Country. With another President, millions would be pouring in. I am stopping an invasion as the Wall gets built.”
“Coulter, one of Trump’s earliest supporters, has evolved into a persistent critic of the president in recent months over his struggles to secure funding from Congress for his long-promised wall along the U.S.-Mexico border,” Fox News reports.
Coulter, whose books include “In Trump We Trust,” and “Resistance is Futile,” did not reply to the president via Twitter on Saturday, but has been relentless in her criticism. In January, after lawmakers reached an agreement to end the 35-day partial government shutdown, she called Trump the “the biggest wimp ever to serve as President of the United States.”
During an appearance on “Real Time With Bill Maher,” she said Trump backed down on his demands for the wall in order to reopen the government without securing funding from House Democrats.
“I promise you the country would be run much better if I had a veto over what Donald Trump is doing. It’s crazy that I expect a president to keep the promise he made every day for 18 months,” Coulter told Maher over Trump’s border wall promise.
Breitbart News reports Coulter is often critical of Trump over his sluggish attempt to construct the border wall and his national emergency declaration to secure its funding.
Coulter “objected loudly in February to a bi-partisan agreement to appropriate nearly $1.4 billion toward border security measures as part of a funding deal to avert a second partial government shutdown. Upon announcing the agreement, the president pledged to declare a national emergency to obtain billions more in funding to build portions of the Southern barrier,” Breitbart News reports.
The president addressed Coulter’s dissent during a press conference at the White House in February where he said she was “off the reservation.”

Real Clear Politics reports Coulter told KABC Radio in February that she was relieved by Trump’s comments.
“Thank God he’s released me from any responsibility for what he’s been doing,” she said, per the report. “That was the biggest favor anyone could do for me today. The country is over, by the way, that’s why.”
Coulter said Trump was “fooling the rubes with a national emergency.”
“Forget the fact that he’s digging his own grave,” she continued. “The only national emergency is that our president is an idiot.”
“This is the worst open borders the country has ever had under the president who ran against open borders,” the conservative commentator concluded.
