Ocasio-Cortez Lets The Truth Slip: Illegal Aliens Are My ‘Constituents’

Democrats have been fighting to avoid having a question asking about citizenship in the 2020 census.

And Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) went after Wilbur Ross, President Donald Trump’s secretary of commerce, when she was questioning him during a hearing on the question.

But she managed to show her priorities in the process. Watch her say, illegal aliens are ‘my constituents’:

She began by attacking Republican Kris Kobach, the former Kansas Secretary of State, suggesting that he was a “nativist” and involved in voter suppression.

She then asked Ross about whether Kobach had encouraged Trump early on in his administration to add a 2020 consensus question about citizenship.

From Free Beacon:

“Kobach said, ‘I raised the issue with the president shortly after he was inaugurated’ and ‘he was absolutely interested in this,'” Ocasio-Cortez said. “Shortly thereafter, in April of 2017, Steve Bannon asked you to speak with Mr. Kobach about his ‘ideas about including a citizenship question on the 2020 decennial census.'”

She then cut Ross off before he could finish answering her.

“I’m sorry, I must reclaim my time,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

“Mr. Kobach later sent an email to you on July 14, writing that the lack of the citizenship question ‘leads to the problem that aliens who do not actually reside in the United States are still counted for congressional apportionment services,'” she said.

“Of course they do reside in the United States. They reside in my district. They’re my constituents,” she said of illegal aliens.

They’re her constituents? Does she know what the word means?

Is she admitting that illegal aliens vote in her district?

And she’s advocating on their behalf?

Does she and other Democrats not want the question asked exactly because it would reveal who is a citizen and who isn’t?
