Socialist Bernie Sanders Just Admitted He’s a Millionaire

Have you wondered how much money Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) has?

Yes, there’s been chatter about his multiple houses.

And how he made his money while in Congress.

But now the word’s official.

America’s most famous socialist is now a millionaire, according to the NY Post.

Sen. Bernie Sanders said Tuesday that he would release 10 years of his tax returns by Tax Day on Monday — and confirmed that he was now one of the millionaires he reviled throughout his political career.

“I wrote a best-selling book. If you write a best-selling book, you can be a millionaire, too,” a defensive Sanders said during an interview with The New York Times.

Imagine that. In a capitalist society, he was able to become a millionaire.

But if he truly decries all millionaires and wants redistribution to make things equal, why is he not sharing it with those who need it?

From Hot Air:

And needless to say, the fact that Sanders and Moore were able to monetize their politics didn’t require them to keep the money. The point of democratic socialism, I thought, was to confiscate wealth being hoarded by the upper classes and put it to higher use by improving the lives of the poor. Sanders and Moore could better some lives right now with their nest eggs, whether through charity or donation to some government’s treasury. There’s no reason why they should wait until Congress passes an across-the-board tax hike on the rich forcing them to disgorge, which for all we know might still be decades or centuries away. It reeks of excuse-making. If you want to show the upper class that they can live just fine on modest wealth, actually show them.

Bernie’s comments didn’t exactly quiet reaction on either side of the aisle.

Will his base really care if he’s a millionaire, as long as they like him berating millionaires?

Isn’t capitalism great, when even the protesting socialist can become a millionaire too?
