Trump Crushes Error During Democratic Debate: ‘Truly Unprofessional’

On Wednesday evening, President Trump took to Twitter during the Democratic debate to crush NBC News for an error they committed.

The network “should be ashamed of themselves,” Trump said, speaking of an incident which occurred as moderators Lester Holt, Savannah Guthrie, and Jose Diaz-Balart were replaced by Rachel Maddow and Chris Todd.

The network’s technical room forgot to switch over the mics to the new moderators, allowing those in attendance and those watching television to hear the previous moderators and other sounds coming through the speakers.

Maddow and Todd laughed and joked with the candidates before cutting to a commercial break to fix the error.

BizPac Review reports:

As the second hour of the debate began and moderator Chuck Todd tried to question candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren about gun control, voices could be heard echoing throughout the building.

Todd and fellow moderator Rachel Maddow responded by admitting to the audience that there was a microphone problem and requesting that the “control room” fix it.

But as Todd tried to question Warren again, the voices returned, prompting Maddow to exclaim, “What’s happening!?”

The chaotic moment was met with some clarity when Todd confirmed the sounds people were hearing were his “colleagues’ audio.”

“If the control room could turn off the mics of our previous moderators,” Todd added.

Maddow interjected: “You know, we’ve prepared for everything. We did not prepare for this.”

“Guess what guys: We are going to take a quick break and get this technical situation fixed. We’ll be right back,” Todd said before the network cut to commercial.

Trump described the incident as “a horrible technical breakdown in the middle of the debate.”

It was “truly unprofessional and only worthy of a FAKE NEWS Organization, which they are!” he added.

Donald Trump Jr. also tweeted about the incident, saying some of the candidates looked lost and confused during the incident—perhaps indicative of how they would act in office.

“Watching the bewilderment and fear in the Dem candidates faces with some minor technical difficulties shows you all you need to know about how they would likely handle real issues would face as leader of the free world,” Trump Jr. said. “Imagine them in the situation room? Scary!!! #demdebate.”
