Watch: Protesters Tear Down U.S. Flag At ICE Detention Center, Raise Mexican Flag In Its Place

Protesters outside an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facility in Aurora, Colorado removed and desecrated an American flag hoisted in the front of the building.

According to the Daily Wire, the protestors then replaced the American flag with a Mexican flag where it remained until the protest dispersed. The protesters also removed a Blue Lives Matter flag and spray-painted it with the words “Abolish ICE.”

From the report:

The demonstration saw hundreds of protesters gather in objection to the treatment of illegal immigrants within the facilities, and comes ahead of the announced ICE raids in multiple cities across the country, including Denver.

“The original flags outside the ICE facility, including the U.S. flag and Colorado flag were placed on the flag poles after the crowd dispersed. The Mexican flag and spray-painted Blue Lives Matter flag were removed,” CBS4 reported.

And:

As The Daily Wire previously reported, ICE agents will begin searching for 2,000 illegal immigrants on Sunday.

Left-wing media outlets presented the raids as targeting families, largely ignoring or downplaying the fact that the target of the raids are dangerous illegal immigrants.

The 10 cities that will be the focus of the ICE raids are: Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, New York, and San Francisco. New Orleans was also on the list but was removed due to tropical storm Barry.

Later that evening, after the protest ended, the ICE detention facility raised a new American flag, Texas Republican Congressman Chip Roy shared.

“There is no excuse for the hatred being spewed at these law enforcement personnel, including those contracted,” Roy continued. “The American flag is going to fly.”
