Church That Opposed Drag Queen Events Becomes Victim Of Apparent Hate Crime

Pastor Amado Huizar of the South Bay Pentecostal Church in Los Angeles has been a vocal opponent to the drag queen events that have become popular for libraries to host. He believes his activism has caused two males to vandalize his church in a hate crime.

The pastor sated that he supports inclusivity, but is critical of tax-funded programs like Drag Queen Storytime that ostracize a large group of people who do not believe it is an appropriate way to discuss the topic with children.

At approximately 3:00 a.m. on a recent Sunday night, two men are on camera approaching the buiding and then running away fifteen minutes later with what “looked to be spray cans”. Huizar described the vandalism to be done by spray paint and “associated with satan”.

Daily Wire reported on the story.

“The Chula Vista Public Library said this is a reflection of our community. I beg to differ,” the pastor said, adding, “If the people want to make that happen, do it at a private setting, at a book store or at a home, but not at the Chula Vista Public Library.”

“I’m all about diversity. I am all about inclusiveness,” Huizar noted. “When you do something like a ‘drag queen story hour,’ you are excluding a segment of the populous who are not in favor of this because of what we experienced today or scared to speak out.”

Over the past few years, so-called “Drag Queen Story Hour” events have popped up in liberal cities in the United States and places across Europe.

“Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH) is just what it sounds like — drag queens reading stories to children in libraries, schools, and bookstores,” the organization’s website states. “DQSH captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models. In spaces like this, kids are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where people can present as they wish, where dress up is real.”

Last month, the program was again under fire after video circulated on social media of a drag queen at one of the events teaching children how to “twerk,” a popular sexually suggestive dance move practiced by the likes of strippers and adult entertainers.

“All you need to do is you just need to stand with your feet sort of shoulder-width apart like so,” an adult male in full drag with the stage name “Mama G” instructed children at a United Kingdom library earlier this month, according to LifeSiteNews. “And then you crouch down in this sort of position, so you’re bump’s sticking out … then you just move your bum up and down like that. And that’s twerking.”

Pastor Huizar stated that he will not be silenced by the vandalism, and although he is saddened by the attack, he will continue to advocate against such programs.
