Former Vice President Joe Biden made a strange and alarming claim during the third Democratic debates on Thursday evening, where he said that no one should be imprisoned for committing non-violent crimes.
Biden’s remark likely intended to say non-violent drug crimes but that is not what he said.
So, his campaign would either have to admit to the error or back the candidate for what he told voters on national television.
They did neither over Twitter, simply commenting that Biden would reduce the number of people currently imprisoned.
We are tearing communities apart through mass incarceration. That's why the Biden administration would reform the criminal justice system by:
✅ Reducing our prison population
✅ Eliminating racial disparities
✅ Making our communities safer

Is this going to be his actual platform now? I had assumed he meant to say, "non-violent drug crime," which is a bit more in line with sanity.
