Ocasio-Cortez Predicts We Will Lose Miami To Climate Change: It Will Be Gone In A ‘Few Years’

Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is predicting that Miami, Florida will be completely underwater “in a few years” if Americans do not act immediately to combat climate change.

The comment was made amid an interview with American Rising where the congresswoman was pitching her Green New Deal—the multi-trillion dollar proposal that failed to garner a single vote in the Senate.

“What is not realistic is not responding to the crisis – not responding with a solution on the scale of the crisis. Because what’s not realistic is Miami not existing in a few years. That’s not realistic,” she said via Twitchy.

“So, we need to be realistic about the problem,” she added per the Daily Caller.

Several people online guffawed at the hyperbolic prediction, calling it “utterly ridiculous.” Check it out:

According to the Daily Caller, this is not the first time Ocasio-Cortez has made these egregious claims to pitch her trillion-dollar plan.

From the report:

In August, the Ocasio-Cortez again made a strange prediction, saying that climate change could lead to glaciers melting and prehistoric diseases escaping from the ice and killing humans.

“There are a lot of diseases that are frozen in some of these glaciers that scientists fear that there is a potential that a lot of diseases could escape these melted glaciers,” Ocasio-Cortez said during an Instagram live stream.
