Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is trying to use the clout she has as a first-term member of Congress to get Twitter to permanently ban President Trump.
As bold (and ridiculous) as that sounds, she made some progress.
While the Minnesota congresswoman did not get Twitter to de-platform Trump, she did get the social media company to remove a tweet from conservative comedian Terrance Williams which started the controversy.
The episode began when Trump shared a video from Williams which featured Omar dancing at a party on September 11 of this year.
Dancing on the anniversary of 9/11? Not a good look.
According to BizPac Review, Williams captioned the video in the now-deleted tweet: “GET THIS WOMAN OUT OF OFFICE.”
“Ilhan Omar partied on the anniversary of 9/11 because she belives ‘Some People Just Did Somethings,'” Williams continued, referencing a prior comment Omar made about the terror attacks in 2001.
“President Trump was bashed for playing golf on MLK Day but it’s okay for Omar to party?” Williams asked in the tweet.
President Trump shared the now-deleted tweet, adding: “IIhan Omar, a member of AOC Plus 3, will win us the Great State of Minnesota. The new face of the Democrat Party!”

BizPac Review reports Team Omar took action to get the tweet taken down:
Omar’s staff immediately barraged Twitter, demanding that Williams’ post be taken down.
“The President of the United States is continuing to spread lies that put my life at risk,” Omar whined on Twitter. “What is Twitter doing to combat this misinformation?”
Omar then disingenuously claimed that she’s getting threats because of Trump’s retweet. Actually, if she gets threats, it’s because of her:

- Vocal hatred of the United States.
- Well-documented history of anti-Semitism.
- Open support for radical Islamic terrorists.
Under pressure from Twitter, Williams deleted his tweet.
Williams responded to the pressure from Team Omar and Twitter by saying his account was “under attack.”
“These looney leftist are trying to take me down!” he continued. “Liberals are begging twitter to suspend me & Majority of them are White Racist Liberals Hating on a Black Free Thinker.”
