Connections With Russian Spy Cause Overstock CEO To Resign

Overstock CEO, Patrick Byrne spent the first part of his appearance on Varney this week discussing his knowledge of the Russian and Clinton scandals that have had much of America’s attention over the past two years.

This comes after stepping down as CEO as a result of an investigation linking him to a Russian spy.

Byrne stated that he helped the FBI in what he initially believed was a law enforcement investigation involving Russia infiltration, but ended up being nothing but political espionage perpetrated by John Brennan and James Comey.

Byrne stated that “Everything you know is a lie.”

Fox Business reported on his resignation.

“In July I came forward to a small set of journalists regarding my involvement in certain government matters,” Byrne said in a letter to shareholders. “While I believe that I did what was necessary for the good of the country, for the good of the firm, I am in the sad position of having to sever ties with Overstock, both as CEO and board member, effective Thursday, August 22.”

Chairman Jonathan Johnson has been named interim CEO.

Last month, Byrne disclosed he was involved in an FBI probe into a Russia investigation and admitted to having a relationship with Maria Butina, a Russian citizen who was convicted of crimes related to the 2016 election. In an Aug.12 press release, he said it was the third time in his life that he “helped the Men in Black: the first was when my friend Brian Williams was murdered, and the second was when I helped the M.I.B. shake up Wall Street a decade ago.”

Byrne also stated in the interview that Bill Maher will disrupt the members of the “Deep State” that have been at the bottom of the political espionage he alludes to. He believes that the Department of Justice are the “heroes” and will bring law and order back to America.
